Mets Get Broomed At Petco, 7.5 Games Back

Another Sicking Loss. This Time It Was The Pitching That Got The Best Of The Loss. Pedro Martinez Pitch Pretty Terrible In His 5.0 Of Work He Allowed 10 Hits On 4 Runs. 10 Hits ! This Is An Ace There Sending To The Mound Pedro's Gotta Know He Needed To Step It Up For The Team. This Padres Team Is Last In Almost Every Categorize In Offense But Swung Hot Bats Against Martinez. A Small Bright Spot In A Bleak Loss Was That The Bats Final Woke Up Driving In 6 Runners Leaving 16 On Base, look Its A Start.

Things Looked Good Going Into The Bottom Of The 8th The Mets Had A 6-4 Lead. Sanchez Came On To Setup Wagner For His Save Opportunity In The 9th. Dwaner Left The Bases Juiced Retiring Two Batters. Willie Made A Crucial Move Calling For Wagner To Work Out Of The Situation. The Mets Couldn't Fight Back In The 9th And The Mets Went On To Get Boomed In San Diego. Ex-Met Tony Clark Step To The Plate And Of Course Hits A Grand-Slam To Put An End To Another Disappointing Road Trip In Cali.

I Mean Tony Clark ! Cmon Hes Gotta Be At Least 45 Years Old Now And He Hits One Out Of The Park. I Had A Feeling They Were Guna Lose The Game. As If Things Couldn't Have Looked Any Worse Last Night Ryan Church Was Sent To The 15 Day Disable List. A Crucial Bat In The Mets Line Up Probably Wont Return At Least Until A Month From Now. Here's The Thing Omar Isn't Guna Let This Team Go Down The Drain. I Know For A Fact By All-Star Break Hell Acquire Someone To Help Out The Team. Runner Mill Says Edinson Volquez Ace Pitcher From The Reds Could Become A Met Before The Trading Deadline. Omar Is Willing To Shop Around With Oliver Perez And Aaron Heilman. THANK YOU OMAR !

Meet The Mutts, Mets Cant Split Series With Pad's

Last Night Mets Fans Had Literally Tore There Hair Out Knowing That Oliver Perez Would Pitch In The 3rd Game Of 4 Four Game Stand In Petco park. Ollie Looked Sharp In The First 3 Innings Of Work But In The Fourth He Maneged To Allow A Solo Home run To Catcher Micheal Barret On His 1st Home run Of The Year. Perez Also Had A Rocky Performance In The 6th Hitting A Batter And Giving Up A Base Hit, Lucky The Pen Would Retire The Side. Overall Perez Had An Excellent Start Especially Since His Last Outing Just Retiring One Batter. Never The Less He Still Couldn't Finish Up The 6th Which Has Been A Huge Problem For Him All Year. Perez Went 5.1 Innings Pitched Allowed One Run On Four Hits KO'ing 5.

The Mets Bats Were Colder Then Ice ! They Left 22 Men On Base Only Allowing 1 Run To Score. That Run Was On A Pathetic Sac Fly By Endy Chavez. Having Two Huge Bases Loaded Innings Cha Seung Baek (Padres Starter) Got Out Of Both Practically Without A Sweat. You Just Have To Capitalize On Guys Like This Baek Was Recently Acquired By San Diego, The Numbers Don't Lie This Guy Is Nothing More Then Mediocer And You Just Have To Pound On These Situations When You Get Them. The Padres Continued To Put Up Zeros On There Side Of The Score Card As The Mets Bullpen Was Able To Hold Them Down Until Extra Innings.

Going Into The 11th Pedro Feliciano Gave Up A Solo Shot To Scott Harriston Ending The Game In A Walk Off. The Mets Are Now Looking Up At The Phillies 6.5 Games Back For The Lead. Ryan Church Didn't Play Again Today Saying He Felt A Pounding Feeling In His Head Last Night And Wants To Play It Safe. Ryan Will Not Play Today's Game Either. He Will be Seen By A Neurologist When The Mets Return Home Monday.

The Mets Really Need To Get There Act Straight To Many Over Priced Past There Prime Players Are On The Team And Are Continuing Not To Deliver. Carlos Delgado Is Ready To Retire Hes Tooken A Drastic Plummet In Production Numbers Ever Since Joining The Mets, Im Not Sure Where Manya's Head Was When He Signed Luis Castillo To A 4 Year Extension. Castillo Runs Like An Old Lady Getting Run Base To Base His Knees Are Just Shot. Moises Alou Is Constantly On The DL And Oliver Perez Has Way To Many Bad Outing Then Good Ones. Its Hard To Say But in 2009 This Is Going To Look Like A Whole Different Team A More Younger One That's For Sure. Willies Partial To Blame but When You Look At What He Has To Work With That's All On Minya. The Mets Look To At least Snag One Game From A Lost Series In San Diego They'll Send Pedro To The Mound This Afternoon On The CW11.

Back To 500, Should Mets Fans Start To be Concerned ?

June 6Th And Still Mets Fans Are Waiting Too Take The Division Lead.. Here We Are 5.5 Games Back. The Phillies Are Looking More And More Like A NL East Champions. When Are Mets Players Going To Wake Up And Say Hmm Maybe There Paying Me 7 Digits So I Can Preform Well For The Team And Fans. A Camera Shot In The Dugout Last Night During The Ninth Inning Right After Delgado’s Out Shown Mets Fans Chatting It Up. You Really Would Like Too Think Its Effecting Them But It Seems Its Only Keeping David Wright Out "Team Captain" Up At Night.

Johan Santana Had Another Up To Par Outing Going 6.0 Innings Giving Up 2 Runs SO 6. This Is Exactly Why Omar Picked Up Santana Allowing Little Runs And Eating Up Innings, Of Course Being Backed By His Hitting. Not The Case Tonight As Another No Named Pitcher Winds Up Owning The Mets Former Long Time Phillie Randy Wolf Allowed Only one Run In 7.0 Innings Pitched. Mets Fans Were Left With Head Ekes As The Mets Had Two Bases Juiced Situations And Were Only Able To Produce A Long Fly Ball Out By David Wright Allowing A Sac Fly. Davids Sky Rocketing Shot Would Have Been A Grand Slam In Any Pack But Where Talking Petco, Center Fielder Scott Harriston Made An Amazing Play Snagging The Ball, Just Another Case Of Mets Hard Ball Hitting Winding Up To Bite Them Back.

Some Strategic Moves From Willie Randolph In The 8th Just Made No Sense. Randolph Used 3 Pitchers To Retire The Side In The Bottom of The 8th When The Padres Started To Threaten. The Mets Got Out Of The Inning Unharmed But Just Saying If The Mets Would Have Tied The Game Up And They Would Resort To Extra Innings Who's Left In The Pen Too Pitch. Another Move In The Top Of The Ninth With the Bases Loaded Willie Went To No Name Robinson Cancel To PH Instead Of Going With Bigger Bats With Delgado And Church Sitting Out. This Is The 1st Game When I Really Thought Randolph Made Brainless Moves. Tonight erratic Oliver Twist Go's To the Mound The Mets Are Going To Have To Tighten Up The Defence And The Bats If They Want A Win.

Mets Take College Kids In 2008 Draft

Through Prior Mets Drafts The Mets Have A Bad History Of Draft Pickups. Instead Of building Up There Organization They Have Relied On Big Money To Sign Big Players. This Year The Mets Drafted Two College Players,1st Round #18th Pick Ike Davis . 21 Year Old 1st Basemen/Outfielder From Arizona State University And 1st Round #33rd Pick David Havens A 22 Year Old Shortstop From The University of South Carlina.

Ike Davis Could Possibly Be The Next Best 1st Basemen That Could Replace Carlos Delgado in Just A Few Short Years. Davis Tore It Up In Arizona State Hitting 394 With 16 Home runs In 49 Games For The Sun Devils. Were Talking College So I Should Also Mention He Had 14 Relief Appearances Having A 2.53 ERA. The Left Handed David is More Or Less A Corner Outfielder Of 1st Basemen. With A Good Background Being The Son Of Former Yankees and Twins pitcher Ron Davis He'll Look To Make A Name Of His Own With The Mets.

For The 22nd Overall Pick The Mets Drafted David Havens. Havens Is Shortstop And I Know What Mets Fans Are Thinking, Why Would You Draft A Short Stop When All-Star Jose Reyes Has The Position, Well Mets Fans Havens Can Possibly Convert To Catching. Hes Got Good Pop Hitting 18 Long Balls With A 3.59 Average In 63 Games With The Gamecocks.

Quick Mentioning The Mets Also Drafted 33rd Round Pick Brad Holt A Relief Pitcher From UNC Wilmington And Javier Rodriguez An Outfielder From OF Porto Rico BB Academy. The Mets Make Promising Picks In 08' Possibly Breaking A Long Streak Of Unsuccessful 1st Round Picks.

Mets Jump On Cain Early, Get The Victory.

In An Afternoon Game At AT&T Park, Matt Crain Was On the Mound For The Giants In The Top Of The First The Mets Jumped On Crain Early. Runners At 2 And 3rd Carlos Beltran Hit An RBI Double Sending Both Runners Home, Delgado Hit An RBI Base hit Giving The Mets A 3-0. From Then On John Main Never Looked Back Only Allowing Unearned Run In The 3rd Thanks To Jose Reyes 10 Error Of The Season. Reyes Only Having12 Errors Last Year Has More Then Half Now And We Haven't Even Reached The All-Start Break Yet.

Jose Would Mike Up For That Run In The Following Inning Hitting A Two-Run Home run. With A 4 Run Lead Willie Called Sanchez Out From The Pen To Pitch 2 Innings Having Another Mediocer Performance. Allowing 2 Runs Cutting The Lead Down Just To Two Runs. Sanchez Has Shown A Big Difference Since 06 After Coming Of A Shoulder Injury. Going Into The 9th Billy Looked To Shut Down The Side Looking Unshaped Though Al owed A One Out Single And Almost Walking The Next Batter, Luckily There VSing The Giants So Billy Worked His Way Out Of The Inning Unharmed Picking Up His 13 Save Of The Season Final Score Mets 5 Giants 3.

JMain Pitched 6.0 Innings Allowing 7 Hits On One Run Striking Out 4. Main Pitched An Impressive Game But Needs To Work On His Pitch Counts In Continuously Knocks Him out Of Ball Games Too Early. Before The Game Started Ryan Church Asked Willie For A Day Off Saying He Feels A Bit Out Of Shape Since He Was Absent From the Lineup For About 2 Weeks. This Just Seems A Little Odd To me Considering He Sed He Felt Fine Flying Out To San Fran, Fortunately The Mets Didn't Need His Bat For Today. The Big Pelf Makes His Start Tomorrow, Hopefully The Mets Can Score Big. The game Starts At 10:30 Tomorrow Against the Padres.

Carlos Beltrans 2-Run Double.

Injury Free Pedro Back To The Mound

After A Long A Waited 61 Days On The DL Pedro Finlay Gets The Mound. Watching The Game I Felt Myself Biting My Nails Hoping He Wouldn't Get Injured In This Outing. Martinez Only Has A Total Of 45 Starts In A Mets Uniform In 4 Years ! Its Amazing How Much The Mets Depend On Some One That's Never Around, You Could Say The Same For E'Duqe But That's For Another Blog. Pedro Pitched Some Pretty Good Inning Even Driving In An RBI.
Pedro Gave Up A First Inning Run And Immediately Questing Himself If He Can Still Bring The Heat Only Clocking Up Into The Mid 80s His First Few Innings. As The Game Went On Pedro Would Soon Settle In Giving Up 3 Runs In 6 Innings Pitched. The Game Was Tied Until The 5th Inning When The Mets Drove In 8 Runs. Damian Easley Accounted For A Big Blow Driving In A Bases Clearing Double.
All Looked Like Smooth Sailing For The Mets Until Scott Schoenwies Gave Up A Pinch Hit Home run To Cut The Mets Lead Down To Just 3 Runs. Call To The Sandman As Wagner Was Able To Come In And Shut Down The Side. The Fianl Score Mets 9 Giants 6. All In All Pedro's Return Was A Success Going 6.0 Innings Allowing 6 Hits On 3 Runs KOing 3. John Main Makes His Start For The Mets Tomorrow Afternoon On SNY.

Santana On His Game, Mets Take Series Against LA

Johan Santana Was This Time Not Called Out To Stop A Slump But To Pro Long What mets Fans Have Been Waiting For For 2 Months, Succesfull Baseball ! Although The The 1st Inning Of His Outing Looked Anything But Promising, Giving Up A Run In The Top Of The 1st But Fortunitly It Was The Only Offence The Dogers Could Produce On Santana Going 7.2 Innings Giving Up 6 Hits On One Run KO'ing 6.

Ryan Church Would Return To The Lineup Last Night Just Bulking Up The Dangouros Hitters They Have. Church Went 3-3 Including An Important 2 Run Homerun To Stretch out The Mets Lead To 5 Runs In The 5th. Not Only Is Church Back But It Seems Carlos Beltrans Bat Is Starting To Light Up As Well He Also Hit A 2 Run Long Ball In The 5th. Pedro Feliciano Shut The Door In The Ninth As The Mets Take An Important Series From the Dogers.

As A Met Fan Myself I Can Finaly Feel Some Confedence About The Team. With All The Club House Distractions It Seemed Like It Was More Of A He Sed She Sed Then Playing Ball And Getting Wins. This Is What Mets Fans Have Been Waiting A Contending Club. Mets Are Now Just 3.5 Games Back Of The Phillies. Catch The Game Tonight On SNY At 10:15 Eastern Time.
